Technology Expands Slotting and Supply Chain Optimization Offerings

Research Triangle Park, N.C., February 9, 2010 The Progress Group, a leading supply chain consulting firm, and Optricity, supply chain optimization software developer, announced today that they have formed a partnership that will enable the two companies to collaborate in order to provide enhanced technology solutions for their clients. In addition to using Optricity's OptiSlot™ warehouse slotting software, the companies are also working together on new applications for Optricity's leading edge Juncture Optimization™ technology.

The Progress Group resources have created a partnership with Optricity to implement their OptiSlot warehouse slotting software. Using OptiSlot, best of breed slotting technology, The Progress Group resources managed a facility reconfiguration for an international supplies company. On this reconfiguration project, OptiSlot's robust profiling capabilities were used to determine optimal pick fixture sizing and then slotted the warehouse by case size, product family, and velocity. The OptiSlot tool prioritized these multiple constraints to minimize picking and replenishment labor. Results included optimal space utilization and minimized labor costs.

To create potential for high return on investment, Optricity focuses on optimization, the result of which is cost minimization.
