Optricity offers mathematically advanced, optimization engines to enhance return on supply chain investment. Capitalizing on leading web technologies, improved computing algorithms and analysis techniques, Optricity tools integrate with current supply chain staples. We plan to use optimization techniques to solve supply chain problems that are not addressed by the mainstream systems such as OMS, WMS, TMS and ERP. We have coined the term ‘Juncture Optimization’ to describe our positioning ‘in the cracks’ between mainstream systems, where visibility applications may reside but where there is no use of optimization techniques to achieve a more globally optimal solution to SC problems.
To address challenges at the junctures, we have assembled a toolset of optimization modules that are ready to be customized to solve SC problems. As opposed to those who provide standard toolkits or systems, we modify the math to fit the problem rather than modify the problem to fit the math. When we run across common SC problems that will benefit from the use of optimization techniques, we will put together a standard system, like our OptiSlot slotting solution. It is also our position to steer clear of any applications that have been solved well, so we do not plan to compete with many of the SC solution providers or integrators. In fact, we’ll most likely partner with some of them to fill in the cracks.
If a software solution already exists, works efficiently, and cost effectively, we will recommend taking that path. In fact, we’ll suggest you buy off the shelf; albeit, a good deal of customization is usually required for those systems to be implemented and work effectively. Alternatively, if an optimization issue is at hand and it’s a tough problem to solve, a problem that crosses traditional boundaries and would benefit from higher order math and programming skills that are rooted in a supply chain experience set, we want to tackle it.
Our niche, to apply advanced mathematical techniques to supply chain problems at specific junctures, provides a continuous improvement path toward overall supply chain optimization. In combination with partners and services, Optricity smart engines provide unique Juncture Optimization solutions to supercharge the supply chain.

Management’s vision for Optricity was born out of the evolution of the supply chain marketplace. Three years, even two years ago, we would have been ahead of our time. Now that many companies are standardizing on integrated supply chain systems, we believe that we are in a timely position to bring together our collective domain experience and distinct skill sets and combine them to create a totally new kind of company.
We’re not consultants and not an outsourced programming shop. Our goal is to leverage the optimization tools that we create with each new challenge solved and build a learning operation that capitalizes on the latest technologies available to us. Each member of our development team has (or is currently working on) a Ph.D. in advanced mathematics or operations research. Our business leadership includes:

Dan Basmajian is the President and CEO of Optricity. He is a demonstrated pioneer in the supply chain industry with more than twenty-five years of experience in high tech software development. His diverse background lends itself exceptionally well to providing leadership and vision, and driving tactical execution in business environments. He has operated successfully during his career as a company founder, Chairman and CEO, and senior management team member. He is sought after as an advisor to leading executives in the supply chain industry.
Mr. Basmajian may be best known for his role in pioneering slotting and specialized routing technologies. He is an authority on leveraging the use of advanced modeling techniques as integral components of the total supply chain solution. His company, Performance Analysis Corporation (PAC), was a boutique, sole provider of proprietary supply chain software. After PAC was acquired by Manhattan Associates (MA), Mr. Basmajian served on the senior management team that took MA public (Nasdaq: MANH). Mr. Basmajian has been pivotal in other companies such as Viewlocity, a provider of real time supply chain visibility solutions, as he develops strategies to modernize supply chain execution software.
Mr. Basmajian spent the last four years in leadership positions in the software industry. As a pastime and for profit he regularly reviews and advises start up ventures. During this time Mr. Basmajian also managed his family commercial real estate endeavors. Mr. Basmajian earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in management science from Duke University and his Masters degree in business administration from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business.
